It's painful to wait for LED in M1530

I would order a M1530 right now if the promise/rumor of the LED screen wasn't out there. It's hard to be patient...

And I hope that I don't screw up by waiting so long that the $669 deal is pulled.

And the funny thing is, a couple of weeks ago I would have been ignorantly happy with the CCFL screen. Now, I'm a more educated and more discerning customer.

I also don’t think you can get the LED screen while that offer lasts. LED screen is nice, but not worth loosing that offer and paying a premium.

I agree... I suppose Dell wouldn't be so dumb to offer the same discount when the LEDs come out. Is such a large sale ($669) precedented on DELL notebooks?

I also need to buy before the 12% EPP expires...

Sponsi, the reviews on Amazon weren't kind to the SZ650... Nice screen, but...

Don't rely on those short Amazon user reviews. Read a real review posted in a reputed review site.

I dont know much about Sony SZ models, here is a NBR review of a SZ6

Touché... Yeah, I suppose it's not that hard to pick out the reviews written by friends of the author. I'm always interested to see what people wrote, though.

Sony notebooks are nice, but do they anyhow changed their customer service? They are #2 on my list as least favorable service.

I understand that the LED on the 1330 was initially +$300. With a larger screen on the 1530, could it be as much at $450 more when announced?

Absolutely. And Then Add That To The Premium Pricing, Without The $669 Discount. Ugh!

what do you guys thinking about a purchase for the m1530 around January 18th? i am leaning towards the big discount rather than having the 'ideal' laptop.

Thats about the time frame I'm looking at... if I can hold out that long.

I just hope the $669 + 12% EPP don't go adios before then...

I'm in-line with you guys. I want the LED, I just don't know how it will all pan out. I'm not under the delusion that I will get any sort of deal on the LED equiped 1530, I would just like to know the pricing and make my decision before the cheaper options expire!

you needed to spend at least $1600 before taxes to get the 12% EPP deal.

I think students get 12% no matter how much they spend but dont quote me on that.

cbflip2000 is right normal EPP uses a sliding scale dependent on what warrenty/how much you spend.

I know it has been asked before but I have not heard an answer (or the one I am looking for!) but are there ways of getting the EPP without actually being part of a company or school that takes part in the program? I think I've heard others simply claim to be working or part of the program?

Others can, but when going for the dell prefered account I could see them checking with the company simply asking does this <name> work for you and live <here>. Doesn't match up, ouch their loss. And you need their company ID too to use the EPP program.

And anways, it isn't ethically sounding anyways...There are people who penny snatch and cut cuppons, but using stuff that isn't intended for you is a real bad choice of ethics.
