Whatever is inside the panel that the product number sticker is on, has begun to melt the sticker attached to my E1505. I havent done much, but run WoW and The Frozen Throne. I never smelt the burning either but i do have some congestion at the moment. What is the product key stuck on? I would open it up but i dont want to blow something up.

This is the time in which you need to pick up the phone and call Dell...something isn't working correctly at all. Your GPU is probably getting too hot and/or the fan isn't running.

Just like SPEEDwithJJ said it is completely normal. Both my XP and my Vista COA stickers came like that and it is an anti-piracy feature of those labels.
