Yeah.... same specs as in sig but its £100 cheaper with the addition of N0917003. So thats £710 for what used to be £809, and before that it was £870. Fantastic.... guy on phone said it could be with me on the 20th is i placed a new order today, so i did, to save £100. I hope they cancel my old one and dont come back at me with "you've cancelled 2 already no! stick with it you lousy customer" Then i will be miffed.

Also its worth noting that they are now offering a 7200RPM drive with the N0917003 variant, but its an extra £70 over the 5400rpm which i felt was a total rip off, so i stuck with 5400.

    was there a question? :p

I agree the upgraded HDD is a rip and i dont actually know the difference it will open up faster ?? :S i was quoted £170 for upgrade to 7200 rpm but that was yesterday before they updated it today.

Cancel all you want im on the verge of cancelling because i am pisse off at them atm, customer service is appauling and dont speak english.

You can be a lousy customer all you want they still want your money and there are no restrictions on how many times you can reorder.

How did it happen by the way? did u just ring up a new sleas rep and ask for a better deal?

No i just configured it again today, on N0917003, which is a new one on their website, previously there was only two vostro 1700 models to choose from, the N0917001 and N0917002, with the N0917003 the same laptop is £100 cheaper. I just check these things from time to time as dell variates their pricing significantly in short time periods.

The customer service people were borderline useless, i couldn't get through to the person i spoke to before so i had to phone up again, and after 4 transfers i finally got to someone who couldn't get the same price as i had on the screen in front of me, eventually he managed to get £703 as opposed to bis original £800ish figure but i didn't trust him, i figured hes missed out some component or something. So i said, right ok whatever, ill order it on the net, just cancel my original order, said someone would phone back in 10-20 minutes, its been about an hour :p

Nah no question just thought i would share my experience, and maybe other people could benefit from re ordering but configuring with the N0917003 instead of the other ones.

No every 2 Thursday they re-new the spec/price. I just went on the site to find out that if i cancel my order i will get a bigger hhd and a better processor for the same price. I too have now cancel 4 times :)

Im happy with my spec for the price but i was told by an apparent "rogue" dell rep who left me voice mail stating i could get £50 refund doesnt exist so after wasting coupld of hours im actually just pissed of at them and send them a very hefty letter to all of the avliable email address SPAM AWAY!

The guy on the phone said i could get a new laptop by the 20th if i ordered it today. But that was the same guy i didn't trust so hes probably talking BS. At least i can quote the guy and say WTF U LIED! GIVE ME COMPENSATION/PRIORITIZE MY ORDER/SEND ME FREE 19" LCD LIKE OTHER GUY! or something.
