I know a lot of you guys cancelled your laptop and rebuilt it again for a cheaper price, and I also know a lot of you guys maxed out your laptop like I did (fastest processor, 2 gigs ram, 160 7200 gb harddrive, bluetooth, N-wireless). I was just wondering, what is the price you guys get after the sale? I know it's scattered all through the board, but I thought it might be useful if you guys posted what kind of prices you are getting now through calling Dell for a better picture of what kind of price-drop this is

I am wondering the same. I'd like to know the price, specs, if you got a warranty plan or not, which coupons/discounts used, and if it was ordered using the Home or EPP/Student site.
-
Well here on AU it's about 600 bucks cheaper for me.
-
The difference between my original price and the new price is like $50 with the exact same specs.
I am under the assumption that if you use the EPP/Student site, you can't use the $350 coupon (tried several times), but if you use it off the regular site, you won't get the 12% EPP discount for orders over 1600 or the student discount (is that gone now?)? Or do these stack some way? -
12%??
Maximum here is 5% for orders over 2000 -
Student Discount Coupon + EPP Discount = destroyed
-
it seems that the upgrade deals and base prices lowered on the dell home site while remaining the same on the epp site, so after all the deals on the epp site compared to the 350 off plus warantee discount at dell home, the dell home price comes out to be cheaper
-
I didn't call Dell, but the price difference for the same system over the past several days was about $300 for me.
-
It very much depends on your specific configuration whether the new prices are better or not. The cost is $30 more for me because I selected a 3 year warranty, but the price without warranty is $300 cheaper.
-
I cancelled and reordered because I went from 1gb ram to 2gb and my 120gb 5400 RPM HD to a 160gb 7200 HD for the same price.
Shipping date was pushed back 2 days but was worth it to me. -
I canceled and reordered to upgrade to 3 years complete-care accident coverage (college student) and it cost me $40 more per unit. Not a bad deal, though my ship date was pushed back a week.
Just How Much cheaper is the new Dell 1520 sale compared to the old one?
