    WOOOOO!
First of all I'd like to especially thank Chaz for giving me the best information possible about the E1705 and helping me with other questions. I'd also like to thank CompSavy and everyone else who assisted me in choosing the E1705. My mommy just placed an order for a Dell E1705 for me! I cant wait, I'm glad my mom was able to purchase it this week. My configuration is as follows...

    Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2400 (1.83GHz/667MHz FSB)
Genuine Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005
Genuine Windows® XP Media Center 2005 Edition re-installation CD
17 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen UXGA Display with TrueLife™
1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz
    80GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS
Integrated Sound Blaster® Audigy™ HD Software Edition

    Total Price w/ 35% Off Coupon: $1,361.00

I will purchase some RAM from NewEgg.com and upgrade that soon after my laptop arrives. Other than that, I think my system is pretty good, what do you folks think? Can anyone predict when it will arrive?

    Thanks in advance.

    Justin :D

I bet the wait will seem like months when its only a week or so. Yeah, my mom's super cool. For my 15th birthday she took my friends and I to Hooter's. It was an amazing experience, anyway no problem CompSavy, you helped A LOT.

You always feel stupid when you don't wait a day. I just ordered an E1705 with exactly the same specs except the gig of ram was 667 instead of 533, and i paid about 140 bucks more cuz i only had 30% off with the coupon. But yea, doin the newegg ram upgrade. Sigh...i miss those 140....

Ahhh yeah, that always sucks. It's still a pretty decent price though. You might have enough time to cancel it and re-order with a better coupon. Have you considered that yet?

Hey, congrats on the machine, im writing to you from mine (specs in sig). I felt stupid after ordering mine, because it was right at the price drop for the T2500, could have saved all together around 200$, but u know what, its a great machine and its worth that... even if my mom isnt as cool as to pay for that :p. this machine for college then? the 7900 GS is a fantastic card, but look into overclocking it, dell seriously underclocks it. I have mine running at 550memory and 500clock. You will love it man, so again congrats.

Thanks Surface. I bet your machine never lets you down :). Yeah this machine will be for college. I doubt I'll be using it much in the classroom though. Could you give me a little bit more info as to how to overclock it and such? I've heard about overclocking I'm just not familar as to how to do it. Thanks.

    Justin.

What type of RAM did you purchase from NEW EGG. Im looking for some 1GB sticks for my e1705. Ive only purchased new ram for my desktop once. For example on Dells site they have ddr2 667 mhz for this laptop. Later on, if they come out with a 777 mhz ram, can I put it in this laptop?

most likely they would not come out with that, and that even if they did it would only run at 667 mhz because of the processors fsb

    I will be purchasing the CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Notebook Memory Model VS1GSDS667D2 - Retail from NewEgg.com. Here's a link to all the RAM compatible with the E1705 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ory=381&Description=DDR2+667+PC2+5300&Ntk=all.
Take your pick, I recommend Corsair, Crucial, Oz, and Kingston. Also, I agree with CompSavy, I doubt you can because the FSB speed.
