    Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I picked up a real killer deal from the dell outlet today (and ended up seeing a nice surprise when I was able to go in and look at the components of my laptop after ordering).

I got the following for $900 shipped including taxes...

    Centrino 1.86ghz
    1gb DDR2
    100GB 5400RPM HDD
8x DVD+/- RW with Dual Layer Writer
Intel 2915 a/b/g Wireless (Found out by looking at the system details after ordering)
    Bluetooth Card
14.1" WXGA TrueLife (According to system details its a Quanta Display)
    Windows XP Media Center Edition
    1 Year XPS Warranty

I feel like I got an incredible deal for the machine I got, and when I customized it on Dell's website with my EPP discount it came out to $1250 plus tax and shipping.

Right now it says my estimated ship date is March 10th. Can I assume it will ship sooner then that since after all, it is a refurbished unit?

Thanks for all your help everyone!

    Alex

if it says 10th march, I would assume they mean it. if anything, it might get delayed and take longer

Mine says the 8th for my refurbished M140. I can't see why it would take so long since they don't have to assemble it.

It was marked a TrueLife in the outlet specs, but in the details it said it was a Quanta which I think is one of the TrueLife manufacturers.

I'm really hoping it ships before the 10th, because I sold my current laptop and need to get it out soon, plus I go back to college in a weekish, and need to have it by then.

This machine just popped up outta nowhere, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it (granted I've been checking every few hours today). Keep looking, the gem's do pop up.

Still keeping a vigil...but I'm a bit confused....most of the machines are priced in a way I can understand...they either give you more on one oend or the other....I don't see how the above specs, with 300 off, would be so low....most machines with those specs are priced around a grand....but I'm still hoping to find one just like it....

Seriously, just sit there for about 30 minutes hitting refresh about every 2 minutes and you will find what you are looking for at the right price. I guarantee it. ;)

FYI, my original ship date was 3-8, I just checked and it has been moved up to "delivery preparation" of 3-2 and "ship date" of 3-2.

Just got an e-mail from dell with a tracking number. Order shipped this morning. :-D

Dell has been a pleasure to deal with...I had to call customer care once already, and they are shipping me the OS and Software CD's for free (I only asked if it came with it, and they said no, but we can ship them to you for free). As long as there is nothing wrong with the laptop, I am going to be absolutely thrilled.

Thanks again everyone. I'll probably write a short review when it comes in.

What amazes me is how many units there are w/o the true life screen....is it that new or are these just older machines....

In stead of creating a new thread, I just got confirmation that my m140 has shipped. I do have a question, I need a good case to carry my m140 to and from work/school. If any one can recommend a good case that has room for 1-2 textbooks/notebooks and doesn't cost a ton let me know. Thanks

I got it through the Dell Outlet. You just have to watch it. Looks like the deals are pretty ****ty right now, but if you watch for long enough some real good ones pop up.

    Lappypappy,

Nice bag. How did you get it for 44.99 (is this inclusive of $10 rebate??). I am looking to buy one for my M140.
Other than ebags is there any other good site??

    Thanks
