    Hello everyone,

First of all thanks to everyone out here for hosting such a forum. After doing quite a research on this site I bought the Dell XPS M140. I am not sure whether it was a wise buy, but here are the details :

    Pentium M (1.73 Ghz)
1gig memory (upgraded from 512 mb)
    60 Gb HDD
    DVD Burner
Added the bluetooth ( I have a bluetooth phone hence wanted to experiment a bit).

THe overall price was $1008 (including shipping and handling and the Ditty MP3 player).

THis is my first notebook purchase and I did not want a fancy one for a starter( Although I am very much a fan of thinkpads...used at work).
Also I did not get disappointed by buying a cheap one (first time buying experience).
Estimated ship date is March 13th (can't wait).
    Any feedback is appreciated.
    Thanks

Good luck with it. My XPS M140 is being delivered tomorrow (apparently), so I'm really excited.

    Hello,

Do you know how much does it take for DELL to ship it?? I ordered mine on 5th and estimated arrival date is 16th (thats kind of too long) isn't it??

That's their estimation only :) but most of the times the shipment will arrive earlier than ETA.. at least, over here in Asia. Not sure in your location. Check the status of your order in Dell website, if you see the status in "shipped".. you can start calling the courier to ask for the status or check the status using the courier's online tracking service.
That's what I did. Although I have to go thru some process... by calling DHL office to ask for the Airway bill # (tracking #) after giving them my Dell Order #.

I just got my XPS M140 that I ordered from Dell Outlet, and it is absolutely wonderful so far.

It does not look any different from a brand new one except it has a refurbished sticker on the bottom of the unit. The TrueLife screen is the best laptop screen I have looked at in a long time....it puts my HP 15.4" BrightView screen to shame...(just FYI my XPS M140 came with the Quanta Systems display) in everyway. It is very snappy with 1gb of ram and the Centrino 1.86ghz.

I will give a more detailed review once I finish moving settings and files over, but you will not be disappointed. I know i'm not.

    Alex
