OK NOW I FIND OUT! That Dell's reputation is in the toilet. I got hooked in by the price $749.00 and ordered as quick as I could. So tell me, what can I expect now? A piece of junk? An expensive paperweight?

I am a student looking for a laptop that runs MS-word flawlessly, surfs reasonably and that's about it for under $1000.00

    Any suggestions?

BTW I may just ask for my money back from Dell, if there's any hope of getting it back that is[V]

    Knobby,

The new Inspiron 1150 is based off of the previous 1100, and that line has actually done pretty well. I think for a budget notebook, it's not a bad machine. In my opinion, I think they took a good budget notebook (the 1100) and tweaked it to make it even better.

I think you'll be okay with.

I agree...the 1100 saw many fewer problems than the others because it didn't contain cutting edge hardware. I think you'll be fine.

yup, stop worrying, we reviewed the 1100 last year and liked it a lot for the price. Don't worry, you'll be happy with the money you spent:
