Just unpacked my Vostro 1500 and plugged it in. I went to push the power button and nothing happened. Pushed it again--still nothing. I ended up pushing the media button to the left of the power button and that did boot the machine. Is there some setting mixed up or something? I'm confused

That sucks because I get my Vostro 1500 tomorrow

Let you know if anything happens...

Ps. I would just send it back ASAP and get a new one or something. ;)

I know just how you feel. I had to return my long awaited HP 9700t because it came with hardware failure. Let me know what happens

Got the run around from support, going to take 10 days to replace or more. Should have just bit the bullet and bought a Mac Book Pro

You can probably exchange it with Dell for a new one if it shipped with the defect.

i second that. my vostro 1400 rocks, just needs a different screen.

even if you got a Mac, especially a refurbished one, there's still a noteworthy chance that you'd have to send it back or make a trip to the mac store because of some defect. anyway there's no good reason to go with Mac unless a) your company/school software supports Mac OS, or b) option A does not apply to you now and will not apply to you in the foreseeable future.
