I was planning to do a clean install of WinXP soon after I got my 1520 opened. I was disappointed, however, to discover that it did not include a disc of XP. Device & Drivers, Webcam, Media Direct, Roxio DVD Creator...yeah, all well and good, but no XP?! Am I missing something, or is this normal.
In the meantime, I'm using an XP Pro disc I have leftover from my Latitude. Been waitin' two weeks for this thing; not gonna let a little thing like a missing disc get in my way![]()

It doesn't usually look like the OS disc. it may be labled "Restore Disc" or something like that. mine was black.
If you indeed no not have it. phone dell and they should send you one. -
Just call Dell and request it. That's what I did back when I had XP.

They usually do not include the disc. When they do, it says so when configuring your laptop.

.
Mine came with oneBut I'm planing on buying a new 1520 with XP Home, will it come with a disc or what?
Also Yuna.Fire, you can always down it from a torrent, but yea...., but the disc is better when reformatting 'cause you know nothing should be messed up on it.... I'd just remove the ****-ware, takes about 30mins, but yea, after that theres really no problem. -
They will next day air it to your house if you call for it.
Just got 1520; no WinXP disc?
