First off i commend Dell for fast service (and DHL) I ordered the Laptop on May 2 and signed for it on May 7 at 1PM...so was really surprised that it came in as soon as it did...pretty quick considering it was estimated to arrive on the 28th of May. Here are a view snapshots i took today...

those are with the lid closed...
i got the +SXGA screen which is very nice and sharp...
and my carbon fiber hood (quicksnap :) )
front and back view...it was very simple to install...just snap it on...quickly...hence the name :)

i also ordered a sleeve and carrying case made by Case Logic from Newegg.com...also very speedy delivery. They actually arrived the SAME day lol...the Sleeve is the NCLE-2 and the Case is TNC-15...
here is the sleeve without the notebook...pretty soft and will definately defend scratches...
the sleeve is made of neoprene so it is kinda stretchy...and as you can see fits in but not too tight.
when you sip it up, you can even button down the zipper

now to the carrying case...i love it because it has so many pockets with are all labeled to give you an idea of what it is used for...kinda nice
    [IMG]
    simple but nice
    [IMG]
the outside zipper opens to a nice storage place...6 CD pockets, place to cellphone, PDA, map, passport, camera etc...
the actually zip that holds the notebook...the 15.4 in the sleeve fits pretty snug, and i trust it will it be safe in it...there are also pockets on the opposing side to hold your charger
    [IMG]
back has 2 zippers...not sure what to put in them...but they are available

DHL, Fed Ex, and UPS were tested by consumer reports on which one ships the quickest, and DHL won.... just wanted to let you know.

One package was lost in transit going from the US to the UAE using UPS, bwahaha

    nice pics aznDANNYazn ...

How do you find the WSXGA+ screen? Do you find the font too small for comfortable viewing? Can you post any pictures / screenshots of the screen while its on displaying webpages / icons / text?

I have the same laptop but I've been thinking about replacing my WXGA with either one of the higher res. screens (WXGA+ or WSXGA+) but couldn't decide which one....

The quicksnap looks nice. I am thinking of getting one but I already have the adhesive "skin" on my Inspiron. My question is does the quick snap use any adhesives to attach to the cover or does it really just snaps on?

Wella here are some pics of the screen...
these are at 1200 x 800 which i find is nice on real estate while being big enough for people who cant see as well...
flash on to see how it reflects...very very nice screen
    [IMG]
here it is with firefox open...

and here are a few at max resolution 1680 x 1050 which i honestly do not use AS much...but its nice to have incase
    [IMG]

i honestly love the screen...my GF has an older dell and i have no idea what type or screen she has...but next to each other...its like HD tv and a regular tube lol...

as for the quicsnap...Cyclo...it literally snaps on...you apply to one side than push down to snap over the lid...very very easy install...and adds a little stability to the screen (not that it needs it though)...kinda wondering if i really needed it or not...but as a car guy...Carbon Fiber is always a much :)

im not sure why you cant see the picture choy...anyone can help him?

but yea keep any questions coming and ill respond with pictures if applicable...this is my first "real" thread and hope it helps thanks :)

aznDANNYazn, thanks for posting screen pics those were really useful. I just have one more question regarding this issue; Did the graphics / fonts get kind of fuzzy when you reduced the display resolution to anything lower than SXGA+? They look kind of fuzzy on your pics but its always good to double check ;)

I would guess that has more to do with his camera or "camera shake" then the actual screen. Even the Dell log in one picture is blurry which makes me believe its just his camera, or picture taking abilities (no offense hehe).

Does yours run really hot? Especially the hard drive area? My 1505 runs hot compared to my friends!

UPS didn't deliver my package on time and they report it delivered on the computer then the next afternoon they drop the package at my door(not a Dell computer though , a part). DHL has been great so far. I think UPS just got too many shipping orders and contract with many companies on their shipping.

Nice pix, hope u like ur inspiron.

sorry havent gotten a chance to get online lately...my desktop is going crazy :( lol glad i got this right on time though lol...

for the pictures...yea everything looks a tad blurry because of the camera or cause of me lol...but everything seems to look pretty sharp regardless of resolution...

everything is running very smoothly...downloaded a couple of programs...and other things...no problems whatsoever...EXCEPT...when i first got the notebook it turned on very slow(but i figure it was because it was brand new) and blue error screens came up and shut down the laptop (i was very concerned at this point) but all that occurred during the first day...after updates and everything...no more blue screens and boot up to vista desktop is now less than 20 seconds :) so i am very very pleased with that...so it guess it was just a one day things because everything is "perfect now"

as or the heat...yea this thing can pack some heat...i dont have a lap cooler or anything like that...so ive used bare lap(well shorts or jeans on lol) and you can feel the heat...but its not unbearable. This is my first notebook ever so i cant compare...only thing i can is my GF has a older dell(not sure the model or anything) and hers does not run "as" hot but shes running XP and an integrated card...

But over I very happy with the buy...and with the coupons i was able to upgrade everything to the max except for the hard drive(dont think ill use up to 120GB as it is)...only thing i am pissed about is that they released the 4MB 2GHz right after i got mine :( lol but o well this is fast enough for what i do on it...any other questions feel free to keep this thread flowing... :)

yes mine gets relativily warm, mostly in the HD area.

It only usually gets hot for me when i place on a soft surface (Bed) so the laptop cant get ventilated from underneath, when on a hard surface, its warm, buts it definatly colder than on a soft surface.
