    Just got my Inspiron 1520, the wireless card sucks?

    Well i got the default wireless card, and i think it sucks.

    With my previous laptop i go far with the laptop and the net would still work, but for this i have to go close to the router in order to work properly....

    Is that normal?

    What wireless did you get?
    I have dell 1390 wireless is that what you have? it works dang good for me.

    I have the same card Dell 1390 and it works fine. The signal goes down one bar if I go all the way to my backyard while my router is near the front of my house.

    If you took the Dell one, it's 802.11g, if your router is 802.11a/n & your old laptop's card too, that explains it. Since a/n are longer range than g
