I just got my xps1330 notebook today and so far I have not found any flaws (uneven base, build problems, whine, missing parts, etc). The only minor problem is that dell included a non-english manual and when I called the lady said that I could only view the english manual online and they are no longer sending any hard copy version.
I plan on installing XP on this computer and I was wondering is there anything I should backup or burn images of right now, so that I can restore this computer to the factory settings if I ever decide to go back?
thanks,
Wei

You can install XP without deleting it's factory partitions. But there is a complete and precise guide(s) in this forum regarding installing XP/Vista as a clean install. I advise you to look for it and read it very carefully. Also, thank the members for writing those.

If you can image the ENTIRE drive including Boot Record, you can always give yourself the option to restore to factory. However, if you're going to the trouble of imaging, you're probably better off imaging your own custom installation.

You can download the 15 Day trial of Acronis disk Image for free and make a system recovery disk set of the original disk which has no time expiry date.

Had to laugh for a minute because Dell sent a Russian manual with my repacement that came last week!
They are also sending out a very nice CD binder/manual holder with new 1330 systems. It even has "XPS" ingrained on the cover and comes with and XPS soft cleaning (microfiber) cloth. -
Soooo are you happy with the replacement? I seem to remember you being a bit grumpy at one point no?
Just got my XPS1330!
