    Hey

So without telling a long story, after a lot of delays from myself due to family illness and a delay from dell after awaiting the results of their "investigation" I had an engineer come round today to replacement my screen (and for that matter webcam...since it randomly stopped working....)

I originally had a SEC4457. There were slight but noticeable white lines going through the entire screen which were visable mainly on greys and gradients.

This was replaced with a grainy AUO screen which I had replaced today. I have received another SEC4457 which I am not entirely happy with. The problem is a slight but terribly annoying one and to top it off the viewing angles are (while not terrible) below par.

Is there any hope of me getting a good screen? I could live with it, but I don't want to...and should I have to?

This is yet another Dell UK saga btw :(

Believe me, I don't think that there is any "perfect" screen on the 1400. I thought I was lucky with the LPL0000 LG, but no, I had a s***y wallpaper that until last week when I changed it made it look fine. I'm soo PO'd that I resent having to send in my laptop to have it replaced. I want the quality that I deserve and pay for. Dell keeps pulling these half-arse excuses out of nowhere to justify every possible flaw with this line of XPS, Inspiron, and Vostro notebooks and I for one am so sick of it. How come Apple can get sued for selling a locked iPhone, but there have been, for all that I know, no talk of bringing a suit to Dell, even if only to show that we're serious when we say we want high-quality.
