Just dumped a good glass full of water all over my brand new E1505..oops. I'm pretty sure I killed it dead....it stopped working, I pulled all the plugs...drained the keyboard and have it airing out but by all accounts I don't think it's coming back to life...lol The most ironic part of this is that I just bought a complete care upgrade for my warrenty this morning. If my laptop is dead will they replace it? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Ouch...No one knows for sure, but be SURE that it's dry before you turn it on again. I'd give it at least 3-4 days, perhaps longer. It's good that you turned everything off right away. I'd give Dell a call and inquire right now, that way you are starting a dialogue right away and they will know that you didn't just sign up for the complete care to get a new notebook. That's really a sticky situation, I hope everything works out. From what I have heard Dell has been pretty good with honoring CC warranty requests. Stinks that you just ordered it this morning though, it kind of muddies the water.

if you got the complete care yes they will replace/repair it.
but i think i would wait a few before turning the claim in as they might think you damaged it before oyu bought the warr and might not warr. it

oh and that has gotta suck. another reason i bought the complete care. esp since i have 3 kids aged 10, 7, 7.

    good luck

lol, yeah complete care is good for those of us accident prone or with children.

They will try to fix it first. If they can't fix it, then they will replace it. As the others suggested, I would wait a few days and make sure it is good and dried before trying to turn it on again. If you have problems then, then call Dell's Tech support and make arrangements for the repair.

That was the first place I went to!...lol Followed those instructions to the letter. It's funny in that I have a company issued Toughbook CF-29 on the same table as my now dead E1505...it couldn't have spilled on the waterproof toughbook...lol

I'm not putting the battery back in until next Saturday. If after a week it doesn't come back, it's not going to. I'll call Dell after that. Like it was said, don't want them to think I got the plan just to replace it.

Since you got complate care they should exchange it but you should wait about a month before reporting it.
