as someone who has had a dell 9300 for 2 weeks , here are my suggestions :

    1. either uninstall the useless unwanted loads of software already installed or simply reformat(IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!).

    2. i have the same graphic card, the drivers that come are not very good imo. go to http://www.TweaksRUs.com and get XTreme-G MobileForce(a must have if you are gaming). then comes the idea of overclocking your graphic card. I ran it non-OC for a week and first time i OC-ed too much and i got blue screen of death :p. i had to reboot and use the "Auto Overclock" from the drivers settings thing. make sure to have "use this settings when start up" from the same pannel if you are OCing so you dont have to go there every single time.

OC will give you a really nice boost in games, I play Battlefield 2 and FEAR. they both looks increadibly great. especially after installing those drivers. OCing lets you play smoother at higher resolutions

besides these 2 steps i havent done anything to it. so far im extremely pleases with my laptop, this is the first one i ever had. it is perfect for games :) very powerful

Burn the backup disk first if you are going to junk the sonic stuff because after that you can't

like guardian stated, if you feel comfortable doing it, make sure to reformat. I have a sticky at the top that gives you hints and suggestions if you aren't sure about any of it.

We also have an "how to optimize" your laptop thread located here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=5787

This will give you tips on what programs you can download, XP services you can turn off, etc that will help your laptop run better.
