    Hey,

I just ordered an E-1505 with an expected ship date on or before 9/5/06. Took advantage of the 20% off coupon and saved about $400. System eventually cost a tad over $1500 before taxes. Here's what I got (the important stuff anyway)....

    Inspiron E1505, Intel Core Duoprocessor T2400 (2MB/1.83GHz/667MHz)
    15.4 Inch UltraSharp TrueLife Wide-screen WSXGA+, for Inspiron 6400/E1505
    2GB, DDR2, 533MHz 2 Dimm for Inspiron 6400/E1505
256MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON X1400 HyperMemory, for Inspiron 6400/E1505
60GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive for Inspiron
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
    8X DVD+/-RW Drive for Inspiron 6400/E1505
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Mini Card (54Mbps)
Trend Micro PC-cillin InternetSecurity, English, 3-Year Subscription
53 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery, for Inspiron 6400/E1505
    4 Year Limited Warranty
CompleteCare Accidental DamageService to 4yr Limited Warranty
Free Promotion for 15 in. (Haven't been able to access this promotion site yet!)

I'm definitely looking forward to getting my first laptop! I even went to Target today and purchased 2 games that my PC can't handle (video card severely lacking) D&D Stormreach and Star Wars Galaxies. Hopefully my start-up experience goes without a hitch, but at least I know there are some knowledgeable and friendly folks on this site if I screw something up! Just thought I'd share (I'm liking a freakin' kid before Christmas!).

4 yrs w/ completecare. holy ****. After the 3rd yr you could throw your laptop off a roof and get a brand new model!

I would assume that the warranty doesn't cover owners who destroy their notebook on purpose to get a new machine.

Aside from ethical issues raised by such an attitude, it is only a matter of time until Dell catches on, especially with business not going so well recently.

Most people wouldn't think of something like that or are "ethical" so I don't think dell will suddenly end their completecare policy. Then again, most people didn't use coupons, so I really don't know. Either way, the OP's specific policy can't suddenly be changed, so he can still throw it off a roof :)

Wow, you have pretty much the same setup as I. Great for moderate gaming.
