Been reading about reformatting the HD to clear all the crap off the system.
I know I have to download the drivers and such.

Anyone have any tips on the reformat and input on the config of the machine I bought.

Welcome to the family. looks good, same as mine except for the OS and and bigger HD.

Check SG's sticky at the top of the dell forum. She'll even walk you through the process if you're nice to her.

 I paid about the same on Ebay back in June. Yours has a better screen and a faster HD but mine came with M$ Office 2003 PRO.

For $1600, seems like a great deal (T2500, WUXGA, 7900 GS, 7200RPM, 2GB@667, 4 years complete coverage). Should be very fast too.

Man, I wish I had the employee discounts and the discount that your relative has. I only used the 20 percent and purchased the machine for about 2140 total (taxes included). Mine has the Windows Professional though. It's still a really good deal.

Congrats on your purchase, and for everything you are getting, it's an excellent deal. I ended up paying $1750 for mine in June, and your system is better than mine. The E1705 is a brilliant machine, and yes, complete reformat is highly recommended.
