After long hesitation i orderd my new Inspiron 1520 with the following spec.

    Code:
    Inspiron 1520 Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5250 (2MB cache/1.5GHz/667Mhz FSB)
System Color Ruby Red Color with Microsatin Finish
Memory 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 2 Dimm
Monitor 15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA Display with TrueLife ™
Video Card 256MB NVIDIA ®GeForce™8600M GT
Hard Drive 120G 5400RPM SATA HDD
Operating System (Office software not included) Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Premium Edition
Network Card and Modem Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem
    Adobe Software Adobe® Acrobat® Reader 7.08
    Combo or DVD+RW Drive 8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
Sound Card High Definition Audio 2.0
Wireless Networking Cards Dell Wireless 1390 802.11g Mini-Card
    Camera Integrated 2.0M Pixel Webcam
Office Productivity Software (Pre-Installed) Microsoft Works 8. DOES NOT INCLUDE MS WORD
Security Software Norton Internet Security™ 2007, 30 Day Trial
Primary Battery 85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
Hardware Services 1 Year Return to Depot Service and Technical Support
Online Data Storage DataSafe Online Backup 3GB (included with price)
Misc 5 Please select an ISP subscription
Media Center Enhancements Dell Travel Remote Control, IR
The total comes to CAD 1366.26 (incl tax)

Here in Canada we don't have the same discount as our US counterparts.
I guess i could have gone for T7100 instead of T5250 but the cost ($150) doesn't justify my choice (besides we don't have option for other processors). I feel the processor is a step backward compared to my current inspiron 6400 (T2050) (am i right here or both of them are pretty much the same ).

Besides the processor (though i should be ok ) i am happy with my order. But the estimated shipdate is July 27th which is small disappointment :D. Would be doing clean formating and dual boot with xp media center once i get my laptop.

    Any comments on this order

It's a pretty good config, but if it was within your budget, you should have gone for a better processor, like the T7100 or T7300.

Although the clock speed of the T2050 is faster than that of the T5250, the T5250 will perform better because it as twice as much L2 cache and a faster fsb. So no worries there. The CPU will not be a bottleneck for gaming. Seems like a pretty good deal considering it has an 8600m gt.

Don't forget, July 27th is probably your estimated date of arrival, not ship.

Yeah. You can't even get the Core 2 Duo 7300 in Canada (max is 7100), unless you complain to a few Dell reps and find one who can get you the upgrade. THEN he/she might say "sorry but if you do this you lose your coupon!," but I was having none of that BS :p

You actually can configure a t7300 or a t7500 but then you won't get a discount (link below)
