Nice pickup from the Outlet. Have you been looking to get a Mini?
-
Erwallie...Thats a good deal you got on your mini!
Congrat's on your order...I can't wait to get mine..!

Great deal. Congrats!
-
Good news.
I ordered on Wednesday night, and I just got my order confirmation and it says it has shipped with an edd of 12/12/08That's tommorow
I am very happy that I got a refurbished unit instead of a new one for at least 2 reasons
1-I won't have to wait for it to be built
2-I will get better specs at a lower price. e.g. 8GB SSD, XP home
I'll post some pics of the unboxing and ect. when I get it if any of you want me to. -
Yes do a unboxing and get some pictures haha, i just ordered mine too.. cant wait! OMG
-
HOW DID YOU GET SUCH A LOW PRICE:? -
If I ever receive my *Cherry Red* I will pulling out all the stops on that here!

Ahh ok good, I was afraid I missed out on a huge bargain
BTW My mini 9 won't be here till monday because the courier didn't pick it up from dell till just today. If it had been yesterday I would have it right now. -
-
Ok I'm at a library about 45mins away from home because I had to go the the dentist today
I just checked the tracking number of my package and it says "delivered" so it'll be waiting for me at home -
Congrats on getting it. It seems the Outlet is still very fast.
-
Let us know how its working out for you!
Cin -
Ok I got back home about 2 hrs ago ate lunch, then opened it up.
Right now I'm reinstalling XP because it does come with bloatware
When you take a picture of an UMPC it doesn't usually look small. So I took a picture of it in the lap of my 15.4" laptop so you can get a better image in your mind of it. I do notice the LED screen looks better than LCD. Also I've put in 1GB of DDR2 533 ram to replace teh 512MB stick.
The only cons for me are:
Glossy lid and palm rest.
Lack of notification lights-It only has a power and battery light, no hdd, or caps.
These are no big deal though.
Oh and I do like the touchpad and its buttons.
The buttons don't make loud click noises and give nice feedback to.
Here are some pictures.Attached Files:

And, thank you for sharing the pics..they look great!
Oish..I really want them to hurry and send my mini now!
Cin -
Is your mini a referb to? LOL I almost said "retard" instead of "referb" -
The keyboard is on backorder, aint' that lovely??
I've been waiting on the red since June, I can wait a bit longer
The refurbs are great...I might just have to consider!
Cin -
Ok just thought I'd say that I reinstalled xp and installed all the drivers successfully and I am typing this message on my mini9.
-
I will be doing the same sort of things, when I receive mine!
How do you like typing on it??
Cin -
Same with this. The keyboard is still a bit tricky but I'll easily get the hang of it.
The one big gripe IMO is the " and ' key. Dell sunk it all the way down to the bottom of the keyboard
BTW when did you order your mini? -
 I'm sure it will take me a little while to get used to, also! But once I get used to it...WATCH out!
I ordered my I9 on 11/28/08....17 days ago

Its sturdy, the screen hinges are great. Oh and I noticed the power adapter wiggles when it is plugged into the laptop ac port. Though the port itself doesn't wiggle. This is somewhat normal with notebooks that use these types of jacks. Not a biggy.
-
My power adapter doesn't wiggle, I wonder if it will? Oh well, I won't look for that problem until is potentially actually happens. I'm typing on mine now. I just don't like where the placement of a few keys are. I think most feel that way!!!
Cin -
Yup the mini 9 is built very sturdy and strong, my power adapter doesnt wiggle either, but for a small 8.9 inch netbook, it is VERY nice!
-
Oohh check the Official Inspiron 9 thread in a few..I'm going to add a link for something that works with XP soon!
