    30W AC Adapter

Laptop Screen: Glossy 8.9 inch LED display (1024X600)

I got it for $289+tax+$16 next day shipping=324.89.
Unfortunetly there was a coupon for 20% off refurbished mini 9 laptops 2 days ago and I soooo wish that I had known that when it was still available.

I ordered in over the telephone and I hope they got my email correct because I haven't gotten my order confirmation in my email yet.

    Good news.
I ordered on Wednesday night, and I just got my order confirmation and it says it has shipped with an edd of 12/12/08 :) That's tommorow ;)
I am very happy that I got a refurbished unit instead of a new one for at least 2 reasons
1-I won't have to wait for it to be built
2-I will get better specs at a lower price. e.g. 8GB SSD, XP home

I'll post some pics of the unboxing and ect. when I get it if any of you want me to.

Well Dell is having a promotion where if you buy a regular XPS or Studio laptop, you can get a Mini for $99, but that is for a linux, and a Windows XP Mini is $139, so i bought that one, then i got a 1.3MP Camera upgrade for $25, and the total came out to be $170 after tax, but overall, i paid $1668 for the XPS AND the Mini

BTW My mini 9 won't be here till monday because the courier didn't pick it up from dell till just today. If it had been yesterday I would have it right now.

Ok I got back home about 2 hrs ago ate lunch, then opened it up.
Right now I'm reinstalling XP because it does come with bloatware ;)

When you take a picture of an UMPC it doesn't usually look small. So I took a picture of it in the lap of my 15.4" laptop so you can get a better image in your mind of it. I do notice the LED screen looks better than LCD. Also I've put in 1GB of DDR2 533 ram to replace teh 512MB stick.
The only cons for me are:
    Glossy lid and palm rest.
Lack of notification lights-It only has a power and battery light, no hdd, or caps.
These are no big deal though.
Oh and I do like the touchpad and its buttons.
The buttons don't make loud click noises and give nice feedback to.

    Here are some pictures.

I once owned an eeepc700 for about 2 weeks. It's keyboard took a little getting used to but after 3 hrs it was just fine.
Same with this. The keyboard is still a bit tricky but I'll easily get the hang of it.
The one big gripe IMO is the " and ' key. Dell sunk it all the way down to the bottom of the keyboard :(
BTW when did you order your mini?

Oh..yeah, I can imagine the keyboard taking a bit of getting used to ~ being how it's set up and such!  I'm sure it will take me a little while to get used to, also! But once I get used to it...WATCH out! :D

    I ordered my I9 on 11/28/08....17 days ago ;) :D

Its sturdy, the screen hinges are great. Oh and I noticed the power adapter wiggles when it is plugged into the laptop ac port. Though the port itself doesn't wiggle. This is somewhat normal with notebooks that use these types of jacks. Not a biggy.

I feel the same way. I've had mine for a week today..and am still in lurves per se!!!! :D

My power adapter doesn't wiggle, I wonder if it will? Oh well, I won't look for that problem until is potentially actually happens. I'm typing on mine now. I just don't like where the placement of a few keys are. I think most feel that way!!!

Yup the mini 9 is built very sturdy and strong, my power adapter doesnt wiggle either, but for a small 8.9 inch netbook, it is VERY nice! :D :D
