It took me a while to pick the specs, at first i went with a 7200 RPM HD, but i did a lot of reading and noticed that the HD speed wouldn't really effect HL2 or CS:S, so i upped the processor and went with the 5400. Then it took me forever to decide on what type of screen, i went with WXGA because i don't want to deal with glare and being that the graphics card isn't to powerful, i didn't want to up the native res of the screen as well. The laptop is going to be used for taking to school/light gaming. :dell:

that is a good deal, how did you configure it that way so cheap? I've been trying to get the same thing with 1 gig of ram and the 9 cell battery but it comes out to something like $1700... i keep seeing ppl get the same thing or better for like $900-$1300, if you could explain what coupons or whatever you used to get the price down i would appreciate it...thanks

only coupon i used was the 35% off of $999+ After tax the laptop is over $1000, so for some reason the coupon works, and knocks it down to 7 something, then add on tax and fees and it comes out to 829 :)

Now i just have to figure out what to do with the bluetooth. It came free from Dell with the wireless card, but i really don't have anything to use with the bluetooth, my cell phone has bluetooth so maybe i can figure out something cool with that.

Keep checking this site http://www.slickdeals.net/category/computers/ ...wait for a 35% coupon. Also make sure you start from the lowest base model with a Duo in it, i think it starts at like $769 or something.

First off, congrats on the purchase. I just bought an inspiron 6400 with almost the same specs, the inspirion 6400 and e1505 are pretty much the same thing rite??... ne ways i was just wondering on how long it took them to ship the laptop to your house cuz I ordered mine on the 12th and they shipped it out on the 14th but the estimated arrival date isn't till the 27th, which doesn't really make sense to me.

I ordered my e1505 on 6/6 and got an estimated ship date off 7/19! Thankfully I received it on 6/13, only 8 days later.

I just got a scratch and dent e1505 and like Jeff's mine had only a very minor surface scratch on the lid and appeared new otherwise. I paid a total of $679 plus tax and am very happy with the deal. Also delivery was only about a week after ordering.

    My configuration is:

I have a 1 gb memory chip on order from Newegg and plan no further updates other than memory. This configuration is not exactly what I would have configured but for $719 with tax it is a sweet deal. I would strongly recommend the scratch and dent route.

On a side note, does anyone know how to configure the display on this unit? I would like a little more contrast and haven't found out how to do it yet.
