For 100 dollars cheaper, i order my e1505 with just 512mb of ram, and bought a ram module on newegg for 40 dollars. Saved 60 dollars installing it myself

One disadvantage of getting 3 year warranty is that you will loose it if you decide to upgrade to core 2 duo....

I doubt ill upgrade the processor on my e1505, the most upgrading ill do is probably bring it to 2gb and a bigger hard drive later on, plus a friend of mine has a spare dell 350 bluetooth module he gave me so im guessing those upgrades wont void my warranty.

To bad the the e1505 didn't come with a go7600, or it would have been the perfect laptop for me.

Congrats! My specs are similar to yours only I have just the standard intel video card - I'm no gamer so it's fine for me. The Dell 1390 card worked completely flawlessly and instantly for me with a Westel Versalink router. we've had such terrible luck with Intel 2200 card that frankly, I wanted nothing to do with intel wireless cards. My battery goes about 2.5 hours with full bright screen. I only got the WXGA withTtruelife, not the ultra sharp wUXga - my res is 1200 x 800 and I love my screen - wouldn't change it for anything. The due core is lightning fast! My processor is one step up from yours, but i be it will still be GREAT. The only things i don't like about my E1505 are the color - white trim on easily scratchable silver coating is not my first choice. Also, there is NO compatibility at this point with my husband's company-paid Verizon broadband PCIMIA Type II card. E1505 only has an Express card slot and basically NOTHING works with this slot yet. I imagine in a few months an adapter will come out that's reasonably priced without a 2 month wait list - which is the case right now. We can switch to an Express Card version of the Verizon card, because my husband company laptop only has a PCIMIA slot. Sigh. By the end of September, we plan to travel with the laptop, so I'll have to figure out something by then.

But, I really love this laptop. It's my first and I'm still a newbie. By the way, I did NOT reformat - honestly, regardless of what people say, there are plenty out there who have trouble with reformatting. I am NO computer geek/expert, so i just unistalled bloat programs and changed my startup via msconfig. Somewhere in this forum is a FABULOUS thread on what to keep and what to uninstall. Also, unistall McAffee first thing. It's awful - try something else, but not Norton and you'll notice a big difference. The unistalling process took about 40 minutes right out of the box and then you're good to go. Good luck!
