I wanted to get the 60GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive but the person said that DELL no long sell the e1505's with 7200rpm hard drives. I was very upset about this and after 15min of battling I gave up and just got the 80GB
when i get it i will be glad to run every and all test requested.
any questions, just ask
-
-
-
how did you get the extra 50 dollars off?
-
what's a 5200rpm HD?
lol -
LOL- I was just about to start a thread with the exact same subject line! I bought mine this morning. It is just like yours, but with a 120 GB drive, the messenger bag, surge protector, Targus retractable laser mouse, and a NetGear router for $1423.
It was strange- last night, I was speccing it with $2000 including the accessroies to get the $750 coupon and a $20 of accessories totaling more than $150 too. This morning, I had to make the base system $2000, which is why I got the big hard drive. I think they counted the $55 of the case, too. Oh well- nice to have anyway. The 7200 rpm drives were tempting, but they were SO much more expensive than the 5400s.
There has been a lot of chatter here the past few days about this machine. It is a hot model right now. This'll be my first laptop, and my first new computer since the circa 1999 Athlon 550 I'm typing this post on right now! -
If you get one I'm going to be upset
-
Good buy, you will love your new laptop
-
I got the bluetooth for my phone, but since I have it do you know any good mice or headphones or other cool bluetooth stuff
The e1505 has a ExpressCard slot any good uses for it right now -
The 7200 rpm drives are still available on the configuration page...
-
when i talked to the person on the phone they said that it wasn't going to be built with the 7200 rpm HDD
-
-
I just called up and made the switch to the 60gb 7200rpm HDD
happy now
I was wondering I got the 1 year at home warranty what did you guys get?
If i drop to the 1 year mail in warranty I will still be at $2000 and be able to use the coupon.
So do you guys think that at home service is worth the extra $70 How many people actually use at home repair in the first year.

Just wanted to thank all of you on the wonderful insights regarding the intergated graphics vs. dedicated graphics. I'm not much of a gamer at this point but you never know and Vista is right around the corner (Jan. '07) so I decided on the x1400. This is the best deal I could find and believe me, I have cancelled about three to four times already. I lost count on how many cancellation requests. Thanks again guys. I'm very interested in your thoughts on this. Could always cancel again (j/k)!!! BTW, this order was placed through Dell's EPP website. Check with your educational institution for this deal.
Here is my order summary:

I tried to call in, but the sales rep wouldn't add the free printer on for me.
Any coupon code I need to use?
Can anyone post the link to the dell page where the offer is?
Thanks a bunch! -
I had to battle hard for it and It was just what came up in the circumstances
I was going to go throught EPP like JCCool^^^ but to keep me in Home and Home Office they gave me the free printer. I have 2 codes for 35% over $999 Inspiron notebooks on 2 for desktops I will offer them here if my family doen't need them so stay tunned. -
What is the coupon code for the 35% off EPP. I can do the employee purchase program, but I opted for the $750 off instead. Maybe EPP would be a better deal though, so can you give me the code so I can rerun the numbers?
Thanks -
-
I can't figure out how to get the 750 on the 1505. I get a message about an affiliate program or something like that.

My Computer Just shipped from dell. I have 3-5 day shipping so It will probably get here on 10 or 11. The problem is that I will be in LA from Sunday night till Thursday night so much time will be wasted with it just sitting in my room not being touched.

I just received my e1505 everything is looking good.
I am Reformatting and reinstalling XP and I have a question.
After Windows finishes installing I thought I was going to go to the sign in screen but i got this pop up saying that it is Installing Applications do not press any keys, could take up to 30 min. I am pretty sure this is just windows stuff and not bloat wear but i just wanted to make sure. -
It just arrived, and it is SWEET! I don't have my router yet though, but it found another connection as soon as I turned it on. Cool! This is my first experience with wireless. The wireless card must be pretty good, because my brother in law was here last week and couldn't find a connection. Is what I'm doing illegal?
I'm very glad I got the WSXGA monitor. I was worried the fonts would be too small, but there is no way I'd want any lower of a resolution that this. Color, contract, brightness, and viewing angle are all excellent as well. I just got it working, so I'm a bit leary of tearing into it and reformating & stuff. I'm afraid I'll mess something up. I'd probably better though, as I have 17 icons in the taskbar staring at me and 72 process running! -
I just finished everything all went well the media thing didn't work but fixed it following the simple instructions
All is well and ready to have fun -
Did you reinstall "Sonic my DVD" and "Cyberlink Power DVD"? I don't think I have CDs for those. Can I make one, or do I need to order it?
Just pulled the trigger on a e1505
