Well I couldn't pass up the deal for $225 off. I have been going back and forth with them for 4 days now and finally they said they would give me the deal I wanted. I couldn't go full throttle because of the steep price but I wanted the 7900 gtx (512). The only reason I went with the xps over the e1705/9400

Recalculating Price
I didn't go with 2 megs in hopes that I can sell the dell ram on enay and purchase better ram at a cheaper price. i'm still researching that option.
With tax out the door just under:
$2850I guess I'll have to smash up more soda cans to make up the difference...lol
thx for all the help
