Hey guys...Got the laptop with 1gb of Ram and want to buy another 1gb but I have no idea what kind of memory is the right one to buy. Do I have to buy directly from Dell? Does it have to be Dell brand? I'm confused, there's so many different types!!

    Thanks guys!

You want to buy DDR2 from any retailer.

And you want to make it's 667 and not anything higher or lower.

If you bought 1 GB from Dell, it's most likely you have 2 sticks of 512 in the system. That means that if you want to go to 2 GB's of RAM, you're going to need to purchase 2 sticks of 1 GB RAM. Also, I believe that Dell decided to be smart with the 1520 and put a stick under the keyboard, making it harder to upgrade. That said, check the RAM Deals.

Can anyone confirm this? Is it hard to upgrade the RAM in this laptop?

That's annoying. I guess I'll buy 1 2gb stick for under and just leave the 512mb stick as is

OK, turns out I was wrong. It's not the 1520 I got, it's the 1521 Does that make any difference??
Would I still buy the same RAM? Is one of the slots still under the keyboard?

Thanks, you guys are big helps!!

The slots and the memory sticks are the same, 667Mhz DDR2 SODIMM.
