So far everything is great with it, no graininess on the screen taht i can see!!
    So far so good =D
I will be posting details of it as i continue to unpack my new inspiron!!

Only problem I had so far is when i connected my ac adatpers and there was a crack.. I'm pretty sure that is alright because its the first time the ac adapters were connected. =D

Any questions about my laptop is encouraged =D

so far so good, i've reformatted the drive, so i don't have media direct and reinstaleld the dell drivers.. i don't see much graininess to the screen, but maybe i'm not nit picky about it.. i haven't had much issues with any CPU whine or fan problems.. i have noticed that the battery does wiggle like half a millimeter in its slot, which is normal so thats alright.. so far i haven't run into nay problems at all

One thing that I have noticed with the laptop is that the DVD drive seems to be pretty loud when i pop a disc into it. It makes a noticeable spinning sound. I'm assuming its normal since my desktop dvd drive does the same thing.

    anyone else with this issue

If you want to know what kind of screen you have, go to device manager, right click on Monitors, click on the details tab, and then select Hardware Ids from the drop down list.

When I do that I get LPL0000. It is a 1420, received this week, with a WXGA (1280x800) TL glossy. It is sharp and clear with no graininess. I can set it side-by-side with my D620 (also 14" widescreen WXGA, but anti-glare) and the 1420 is sharper and clearer.

    So, what manufacturer is LPL0000?

I have an AUO with no grainess, but I do have SOME light leakage on the bottom. I have a warranty exchange coming for an unrelated issue, not sure what I'm gonna get then <_<

yup but my rep was able to add it onto my deal =D

just teested the headphone jack and yes there is interference when i have a headset plugged in. it almost sounds like its interference coming from the adjacent parts inside the laptop. but hey it could be just me, cause i hear beeps and some whine in the earphones provided.

lol its really not that bad. only real noticeable when i'm not listening to anything.

on a second note. i think this has to do with vista more than anythign else but, when i have a cd in my drive. and its stopped spinning, when i click to install a driver, vista doesn't recognize that tthere is a disk in the drive. onlyy when i eject and push it in again is when the disk is recognized. anyone else have this?
