Well it just got here and I'm in the process of reformatting it. I just wanted to address the screen issue. My screen overall is fine. However, there is a bit of light leakage on the left side from the bottom left light stream (strange cause the other 3 streams of light dont show at all) but you can really only notice it on black screens. There is hardly any grain and overall, the comp. seems great! Any questions, shoot.

go to control panel > hardware and sound > device manager > monitors > generic pnp monitor > details > drop down menu and click hardware ids and it should show the model

yea thats the same one i got, *high-five*!
quick question: how do you check which brightness level your laptop is at and is it fn + arrow keys up and down to adjust it? and stonedzombie have you tried taking out the battery on yours yet? i'm tempted to do it but i'm afraid that i'll pull it out too hard or something lol
it also seems like i've got the high pitched noise problem, although its not too loud and its not noticeable in the headphones or when sound is playing. -
Yes, for brightness, you hit Fn+Up or Down depending on what you want to do. To check what %brightness you're at when you plug in or take out your power adapter, click Start. Type in Power Options. Click on Power options. go to Edit plan settings. Hit change advanced power settings. Scroll down to display. Open it up. Click Display brightness and it will be there by percentage.....
