I've been reading all the threads on the 1530 while anxiously waiting for mine to arrive... I ordered it with the 1080 x 1650 screen and it's gorgeous! It's crystal clear and doesn't seem to have any graininess or shimmer. I had ordered a WSXGA+ 1520 back in July and was so unhappy with the screen I sent it back. I haven't had a chance to see what brand of screen I have, I just took it out of the box. I'll put my service tag in and post later.

Just in case anyone wants to know:

    Order date 12/22
    Shipped 12/29
    Received 12/31

No noises, fan runs whisper quiet.

Recommending everyone get a notebook cooler if you plan to do some gaming on it...

I do notice that the HD is noisier than the one in my 1501 which is a 80GB 5400. It's not so noisy I would complain about it but I can definitely hear it. The palm rest gets warmer than the 1501 also. I haven't been doing anything intense just the internet. The keyboard feels great but the touchpad will take some getting used to. I haven't tried the headphone jack yet, hopefully there's no unwanted noise. Overall my first impression is quality. I hope everyone that ordered at the same time gets theirs soon! I'm going to format it tomorrow and reload Vista.
