    Hey guys,

My m1530 came today! Dell did a great job getting it here. I ordered last saturday durring the sale, so I got free 2nd day shipping. Anyways, the laptop got here in 6 days, one of those being a sunday! Dell deffinitly gets an A++ on shipping

Now, I love this laptop, it runs very smooth and i really think i'll enjoy it. The only problems i have with it are the grainy samsung screen and some keyboard flex. The wole right side of the keyoard from the shift key on, goes down farther then it should when i press a key, resulting in a small thud type noise. The arrow keys are the worst.

I know people are eventually getting LG replacement LCDs, but is there anything a Dell tech can do to fix my keyboard? Can the tech who comes out with my new screen fix it up?

Anyways, WoW just finished installing so I'm off to enjoy this beauty :)

Congrats on the new M1530. Had my final one for just a week now.

When you place the call for your screen you might as well get the keybord issue dealt with. Another option you have is to get them to ship you a complete replacement instead. They can do this will you keep your current one.

I agree with Rhodan. Have the tech replace the keyboard at the same time.

I DISAGREE. Send the entire POS back and get a new one. You just spent what...$1500 and you want a tech ripping the thing apart?

I really don't know if it's a common problem with the keyboard. Getting a LG out of them could prove to be testing on your sanity... :)

I had to return 2 units and cancel my first order before placing a new order and getting a LG LCD. My service tag says I received a Samsung RW985, yet the laptop arrived with a LG in it.

    Best of luck.

Since he's still in is 21 days Dell will gladly cross ship him a replacement. And yes I would get a replacement, who knows what else was improperly assembled.

Yeah I would get a system replacment. If you decide not to go down this lane, you can get some 3M double-sided cushion tape and place a few strips below the right side. This was what was done in older inspirons/latitudes with keyboard flex.

Dell will ship you a replacement before you return your current unit. So you can still use this one until the replacement arrives. This could alse be different depending on where you are located...

Some have even swaped the hard drives so they would not have to re-install all they stuff over on the new system.

Nope, whatever the sales/support staff say you will get what's available on the shelf at the assembly plant in Malaysia.
