And it doesn't seem to help. If anything, the monitor looks even more washed out and the viewing angles are slightly poorer. Bummer.
I'm not sure why it was suggested that the AUO is better. I've tried the Monitor Calibration Wizard, and nothing seems to help. Does anybody have recommendations on how to get this fixed? Certain contrast/gamma adjustments?

If you have a nVidia Quadro, and if you havent already tried changing Brightness, Digital Vibrance or Contrast under Display > Adjust desktop color settings in nVidia Control Panel, try that.
However there is a limit to what the driver can do. -
I've tried adjusting these, but can't get the right setting. Pretty much everything appears washed out.
Actually, I can't even get to Digital Vibrance -- it won't let me touch that setting. Strange.. perhaps it is an issue w/ the updated driver? -
that's unfortunate
what you could consider next is getting someone to professionally calibrate the monitor, although that could cost some money. while i haven't touched nvidia's quadro drivers, is there not a setting in 'tools' that will allow you to calibrate the monitor? that could help somewhat, although i'm not sure to what extent.
as i said in another thread, i'm more than satisfied with the CMO monitor that shipped with my D630. if possible, let me see if i can upload my .icm file to see if that will improve your situation. or, if you want, you can request the original NotebookReview reviewer of the D630 to send you his properly calibrated .icm... -
Thanks for that. Any updates in the .icm?

I, too, have the CMO lcd panel, and it is great. I apologize for your problems. Is there a way to get a new CMO lcd instead? Maybe you just got a bad CMO lcd?
-
I think the only replacement kit they have is an AUO.
-
-
Hmm... will check that out later. Did dig. vibrance actually help?

thanks, but for some reason i wasn't able to DL the file there?
Just replaced the CMO display on my D630 w/ an AUO...
