What is the actual failure rate of the samsung screens? i mean, if its significant like 30-40%, why doesn't dell just completely stop using the samsung panels and start using the LGs exclusively? either that, or the failure rate of the samsung panels are heavily inflated here on NBR![]()

There aren't enough LG screens coming off the production line, same with their batteries, for the reason that a factory caught fire, or something like that
-
They wont stop using them because:
a) most of the people will just think that these screens are the way they should be
b) they have a lot of those samsung screens in stock -
The samsungs are also made much more cheaply. Costing Dell much less money.
-
how do u know its made more cheaply? do you have the actual production costs in front of you? ugh i hate it when ppl assume stuff.
-
I don't think that the failure rate of either is significant. I think there is a difference in quality, however.
-
How about Toshiba screens? I have one of those for my M1330? Anyone know where they rank?
-
The Tosh screen you have in your m1330 is probably an LED screen. The screens that they are discussing here are CCFL.
for m1330 LED screens, Tosh >> Samsung >>>>>>> Chi Mei -
Most people probably don't see the graininess.
-
-
here you can see the actual rates of how many people have a grainy screen. dont forget that people will write onto the forum only if they are facing a problem (e.g. grainy screen). the satisfied once hardly write. I was scared by all the fuzz about it here too, but then I got a perfect screen!

My dad has a Dell business laptop, screen was worse than my Samsung and he didn't even notice how bad his was until he compared it to my LG. -
it supposedly ships out on the 30th and is due to arrive on the 5th
Just some food for thought (LG vs Samsung screens)
