Here are some questions regarding the E1705 dell notebook:

1.- Do you think the NVIDIA GO 7800 or a better graphics card will be put again in the E1705 in about 2 months from now?

2.- Is the RADEON Mobily X1400 "that" bad of a graphics card? (I'm planning on doing some gaming, FarCry, Need for Speed etc...)

3.- Does the 9-cell Lithium Ion Battery stick out of the notebook?

4.- When you buy your E1705 does it come with a good case?

5.- Should I buy the E1705 now or wait a month or two?

6.- Is there any difference in between the two different wireless cards they offer for this notebook?

7.- Is there anything I should know about this model before I go ahead and buy it?

8.- Is this a good deal:

    • Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2400 (1.83GHz/667MHz FSB)
    • 17 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen UXGA Display with TrueLife™
    • 1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz
    • 256MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory
    • 60GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
    • Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem
    • Combo/DVD+RW Drives
    • Dell Wireless 1390 802.11g Mini Card (54Mbps)
    • 80 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
    • Carrying Cases Large Backpack Carrying Case
    • Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Internal
    • TOTAL:$1,284.00

    That's it for now! ;)

1.) I do believe that will happen, no one for sure knows now, but there is a strong chance it could be the 7900. But then again, i could be wrong, the reason i believe the 7800 was pulled from the E1705, was from heat issues..etc. Best bet would be to buy the one you want now

2.) For what you want to do, the X1400 should be fine. It gets around 1200 for 3DMark05, as compared to the 7800 which gets around 4000, and the 7800GTX gets about 7000 - just keep that in mind for performance

    3.) Nope

4.) I dont think it comes with any case, i could be wrong though

5.) If you dont need it now, wait. Im sure there will be a better deal out by then, or anytime between now and then.

6.) Major difference, as for the 2200, its the worst wireless card possible, get the 2915, even though it costs a little bit more. it is A capable, as the 2200 is not.

7.) Not really, its basically a 9300 with core duo, and a 5 in 1 card reader

8.) Thats a great deal, i would hop on that quickly

It doesn't come with a case, but you can order a bag from dell in one of the options.

As for the wireless card, that is a matter of opinion. The 2200 card that Nick mentioned isn't even offered with your system nor is the 2915. The Dell 1390 card has had several complaints, so I would suggest going with the Intel card. I think the 1390 card has low signal strength and was causing the internet to disconnect. We have a thread on it in our Dell forum, but I don't remember the title.

Also, you are getting an Express card slot, not PCMCIA slot. This has caused problems with some users because they do use PC Cards, and there isn't a wide range of cards available for the Express Card.
