The alert sound when plugging or unplugging a USB device keeps going off out of nowhere while the laptop is running normally. Sometimes it does it 5 times in a row, when I haven't even plugged/unplugged anything. Any solution for this?

Yes, my printer and mouse are currently plugged in, although it also does it when nothing is plugged in.

Someone had it recently with the memory card reader blank - even though it's just a piece of plastic you still get the hardware removal noise when plugging it in. Take the blank out and put it back in and see if it stops the noise.
