So after owning my 1420 for a year I decided I want to get a notebook cooling pad because it frequently gets too hot to even have on my lap. I also would like something to raise/tilt my laptop while at my desk.

After looking up & researching many cooling pads (Yes, I saw the sticky thread already) it seems like the Belkin laptop cooling pad will best suit my needs...

Does anybody own this cooling pad or have input about it? I'm specifically looking for a small tilt/lift as well as a quiet fan and this pad seems to fit those needs. It will be used on a desk most of the time so I'm not worried about the fan being blocked when in my lap. What do you guys think ???

First thing I would do with a year old laptop is give it some thermal paste. After a year, the stuff starts to break down. The 1420 seems relatively simple to work on. Since you have the x3100, there isn't too much making heat in there other than the CPU and HD
