When I type in Microsoft Word or in Mozilla Firefox/Internet Explorer in my email program the keyboard is malfunctioning.
What happens is that when I type "A" it does what "CTRL+A" should do and selects the whole text/document. If I type "H" in Internet Explorer it opens the "History" panel to the side. I am not accidentally hitting the control button. It does this for T, F, O, I, A, K, and N.
I have contacted Dell and spoke now with 4 different support people, each person saying a different thing and sending me back and forth between hardware and software support. Hardware said it was a software problem with a 3rd party software interfering with Vista. Software said it was "definitely" the keyboard that needed to be replaced. Then Hardware said the operating system needed to simply be reloaded. I cannot be sure who is right since though they claimed to have read the previous support person's notes, they all seemed to have no idea of what the problem was.
Please help! Thanks

Make sure you don't have StickyKeys enabled.

Thats happens to me sometimes but if i leave num lock on it wont happen.

Thanks, but Sticky Keys and NumLock are not enabled or on.

If Num Lock isn't on, try enabling it. It's solved some weird keyboard bugs in my Studio 1535. I couldn't tell you why it works, but it does. Try it!
