I've been getting this weird problem with the 'M' key on my keyboard.
It randomly doesn't acknowledge a keystroke. And it's completely intermittent. I'll just notice that an M is missing from my messages or from a URL.
Latest BIOS and Chipset upgrades are installed, that's what Dell Support told me to do. And then nothing.
I really don't want to send my laptop in, it's always such a hassle.
Any ideas? I know if I wait long enough I can just replace the keyboard off of Ebay if it's the hardware that's the problem.
Thanks in advance.

Go to the support page for the 1747 and there will be a link to manuals in the menu on the left. Select service manual to look at what is involved in changing it yourself. -
Well I talked to Dell and they want me to ship the whole thing in. I need it for work and school so I cant really just not have it for 10-15 days.
Has anybody found any sites selling 1747 or 1745 keyboards yet? -
That is BS.They should just send you the keyboard.Did you tell them your capable of fixing it yourself?
