The up arrow and g buttons on my keyboard are already starting to become unresponsive occasionally. I play a lot of games, so would the keys stop working this quickly? It's only been about 2.5-3 weeks since I got the computer. It's an E1505 if that counts for anything.

Yours is probably a random case. Call Dell tech support, and ask them to fix it. It should have a 1 year warranty.

Yeah, I'd contact Dell for a repair or a possible replacement. However, I'd try accessing the Keyboard drivers and do an uninstall-install and see if that has any effect. What games are you playing?

I didn't think the keyboard had drivers, but I'm not sure either.

You should be able to contact dell and get a replacement keyboard. They'll send it to you, free of charge and you'll receive it in 2 business days. It is easy to replace it.

Ok. I was hoping I wouldn't have to send in my computer to get the keyboard replaced/fixed. Now, would filing a claim on my laptop end my 3 year warranty for the entire unit or the keyboard? If so, I'll run this keyboard into the ground before I replace it in case anything else tries to go wrong with it.

I'm mostly playing Call of Duty 2, Need for Speed Most Wanted (hence the up arrow - accelerate - seems to be unresponsive occasionally), and F.E.A.R.

The keyboard is covered under warranty so you won't be charged and it doesn't do anything to your warranty. I've had my keyboard replaced about 4 times now, and no problems what so ever.

They'll send it via UPS, and you'll receive a screwdriver and I think instructions on how to remove the keyboard. They give you a return label, so that you can you can return your old keyboard back to them.

You warranty will cover any defects for the next 3 years - period. There is no set limit on how many repairs you can have done. Just as long as Dell determines that something is wrong with the hardware, you'll get it fixed for the next 3 years.
