I am working on a dell Inspiron B120 notebook which has a couple of keys off the keyboard. I have the keys to put back on. How are the keys held in place. It looks like they are simply glued. If so can someone tell me what type or kind of glue that can be used for this.Something that will stick the little rubber dome to the plastic key.Or is it a complete keyboard replacement. Thanks

I would just replace the keyboard, if its still under warranty they should just send you a new one

Thanks for the reply Iceman0124. It's 13 months old so probably no warranty. I sure hope there is an easier way than replacing the keyboard. But if that's what it takes then so be it. I'm gonna call Dell to be sure.
And going to hope for some sort of miracle glue.

Have you tried just pushing the keys back onto the keyboard? I'm not quite sure what the problem is but if your keys simply popped off all you need to do is push them firmly back onto the keyboard. A plastic sort of hinge holds the keys to the board.

This is what I did before calling dell to get a replacement the keys held until then, there is two little clips that you should be able to just push the keys back onto.

the keyboard replacement is a snap, a caveman could do it, and even through dell they are reasonably priced, look on dells support site and download the pdf for your model, it should have a step by step guide with high res photos on how to disassmble and reassemble the machine

Now clips make more sense than glue though glue would be nice and easy. Can't just push them back on looks like some parts of the clips are missing. I'm going to check out that pdf and just replace the keyboard. I should be able to handle this as I am not far from being a caveman myself. Hope we don't get into trouble for using this C word. Thanks everyone I'll be back.

Just like to update. Called Dell, they were out of stock. Finally got the keyboard and replaced without any problem. It is very easy to replace. Manual on dells site shows how. Thanks for the help.
