    Keyboard problems...

    My sister's Inspiron 1420 seems to be having keyboard issues.

    The enter key no longer works, and the slash key (| and \) likes to beep nowadays when restarting. We discovered it was this key because when we touch it, it stops beeping.

    What can we do about this? Can we get a new keyboard sent in? (My sister can't afford to lose her laptop, so to fix it, we'd like the new parts to be sent it) Or do we have to send the laptop to Dell?

    Any other suggestions on what to do or try? Thank you.

    They sent a new keyboard for me to replace my wife's 6000 keyboard, so they should be able to send one out to you.

    You change it out and send the old one back. There was a label inside the box to return it.

    It should still be under warranty for you. Just give dell a call and they will likely next day air a new keyboard out to you.
