Well I ordered the laptop in my signature late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. It wasn't until after all bills were paid I realized I hadn't ordered the TrueLife display (which after ALOT of deliberation I had settled on). With all the back and forth through the specs on a deal that just came out I somehow just missed it while moving things around getting the price I wanted.

So I modified my order this morning (sales agent was GREAT, very painless) and was told the shipping date would be pushed back a couple of days (fine by me, it was my fault anyway). I checked the confirmation, yep, October 1 ship date. I chose 3-5 day shipping so I'd have it by the 5th if everything goes well. I check on it later and it's pushed the estimated ship date to October 4th meaning it wouldn't be delivered until the 10th or 11th.

I call up to see if there's anything I can do on my end, figuring it was my bank that was holding up. I'm very nice just asking if I should call my bank and have them cancel the first payment and accept the one for the new configuration.

Lo and behold the support agent says he can't make the order process faster (it was stuck in "processing" payment throughout the day) but what he can do is give me next day delivery at no charge.

I was amazed. A mistake I made in not being thorough enough in my order to pick the right screen and Dell makes everything right. I called my bank and they said the payment can go through tomorrow, I'm still crossing my fingers for a quick build and Friday delivery :)

You gotta catch the deals while they're sleeping.
