My hard drive went bad in my 3 month old Inspiron 1720. (That's the bad news). I called Dell Technical Support yesterday evening. Dell said they would ship out a new imaged hard drive. Got off the phone about 7:00 pm. Hard drive arrived via DHL THIS MORNING! In my hands 13 hours from getting off the phone with them.
I'm impressed. Bummer that it failed in the first place but the support and service couldn't have been better.
Edit: Unfortunately Dell sent the wrong drive. Sent a drive for slot 2 instead of slot 1. I guess they got in a little hurry...

I unfortunately praised Dell a little too quickly. The HD they sent was the wrong one
The primary drive failed and they sent a drive for Slot 2. I was back on chat last night getting a correct drive sent. My fingers are crossed that this one will be the correct drive.

that's not good for you! Well, hopefully they will get it straightened out. So the drive they sent you for Slot 2...was in error. Edit: I just saw it was.
Maybe, they can work something out with you for that error on their part, and for the Primary drive failing?? Doesn't hurt to try and ask...

I hate they as others have outsourced their tech support. Is this not the same for the XPS brands?
