I have a L502x XPS 15 but its starting to die.

How is the monitor and the speakers compared from the L502x to the Inspiron 15 7000?

Is this a matchable upgrade or is the new XPS15 better?

The inspiron 15 7000 is much much more prettier than L502x !!
The screen is better, brighter, and more viewing angles compared to 720p screen version of L502x.
Can't say much about sound volumes but quality wise inspiron is better.
If you're going for a 1080p model then go for inspiron, if you can afford the QHD+ model then GO for new xps 15 !!

Build qualitywise an inspiron is no match for an xps. I'd go for xps anytime.
