    Hi,

I had my Latitude D620 for almost 3 weeks now. I realise that the LCD brightness is not consistent throughout.

When I move my head to the left, brightness towards the right seems to dim off.

Is this the characteristic of this LCD? or I am having a faulty part?

My is the WXGA (1280x800) version.

It's characteristic of LCDs that don't have good viewing angles. I believe neither of the D620 screens are advertised as wide-viewing angle screens (Ultrasharp as Dell calls them).

Here's a review of a T60 with pics comparing the awesome viewing angles of the Thinkpad's Flexview screen vs a D610 screen.

I think it has to do with the fact that this isn't a "wide view" LCD, and also perhaps the matte treatment. I have an inspiron 1100 that does the same thing. A little annoying, but I got used to it. I still use that 1100 all the time, its a heavy little tank...
