Greetings - I sold my XPS M170 today - I was very happy with everything except the LCD brightness. It wasn't dim - it just didn't look very bright (like me :) ) Thinking about an e1705 if and when the prices drop next month before Santa Rosa comes out. I've seen the e1705 display quality thread - but I can't find anything on brightness. Does anyone have any input? Also wondering if the WUXGA on the e1705 tends to be the same panel as is used on the XPS M1710? TIA

Working in full sunlight: not that bright at full
Working in normal room lighting: -2 from full
Working in low room lighting (watching a movie on TV): -4 or 5 from full
