I was wiping my Dell 700m screen lately and happen to notice the following;
On the left hand side of the screen, and when it is turn off, and you look at it from the side like you would to check dust on a lens, or cd etc. I see 3 light spots on the LCD screen, just looking a bit paler than the rest of the screen.
They are a few (cm) in from the edge of the screen, big one is at top about 4mm in diameter, and 2 smaller ones about 3cm apart going down the screen and are about 1mm in diameter each. Looking front on you cannot really tell it is there, only side on.
The best way to describe it, is when you buy something new, and plastic is covering a screen, and there is tiny air bubbles, but of course the screen is totally smooth to the touch.
Now when turning on the screen it, you cannot even tell it is there looking at it front on, and it does not affect the colour or image from close inspection.
Is this the beginning of the end for the monitor, something common???
Thanks

Does the LCD come with a bright view (or True Life) glossy screen? It might be rubbing off...that would explain the appearance when the screen is off or on.

It is the 12.1 inch truelife screen, glossy, excellent image.
I suppose one could also think of it, as you wash colours in bleach, and you get bleach spots. paler colour spots.
It is like that.
