I was about to buy a M1530 next week but if there's a just a slight confirmation that there will be a LED screen, I will certainly wait with my purchase. I would really like to see a LED screen in the M1530, hope dell listens...

There are at least 15 other ideas floating around ideastorm that pertain to the LED monitor. Frankly, none of them have new information. In fact, most were posted well after people on this forum were talking about the LED. The idea storm moderators have not bothered to comment on any of them. The site is a nice place to voice your opinion but very few ideas get picked up or even a response from the mods, even if they are good ideas.

    M1530 XPS owners manual

    Type (TrueLife)
    15.4-inch WXGA TrueLife

    15.4-inch WXGA+ TrueLife

    15.4-inch WLED WXGA+ TrueLife

    15.4-inch WSXGA+ TrueLife

    Only info at the moment!
Dell already plans to release a LED screen for the xps m1530. This information has been available for a couple of months now. It is already listed in their current spec sheets and should be 1440x900 resolution. The release is estimated some time in Q1. No exact dates have been given. Although, power savings from the CCFL panels is minimal, there will be extended life from the LED technology. It should offer a slightly thinner profile(hardly noticeable) but will also probably have a hefty increase in price as well.

I doubt that! They are strugling to put the 1440x900 in the m1530, nevermind the m1330! Any the m1530 is bigger so it needs more res!

The LED screens will probably be better too. I hope that those won't be grainy and will still be able to match up with the brightness and vibrance of colours of the CCFL screens.

The LED screens are supposed to be brighter, better colures, and true white and black, rather than yellow and grey!

I saw stoneware on the dell page that the wsxga+ screen was the lowest light per m2 out of all of the ccfl screens! It did seem very low, would be very bad in the daylight!
