I have had my Vostro 1500 for 6 days and the LCD screen (15.4" wide screen SXGA+ display w/ Trulife LCD) is very blurry and grainy with website pictures and website banners etc. I have fixed some of the blurry fonts by setting "clear type".

I have been reading people requesting an LG screen. How do I know what type of LCD screen do I have??? Does the LG vs a Samsung really make a difference?

Below are some example of the bleeding/blurry fonts and pictures on websites I have viewed.

    Many thanks - Karen

    Device Manager>Monitor>Properties>Drop Down Menu-Hardware Ids

If it says SEC, then it is Samsung. If it say LG, then it is LG.

I am currently trying to get the SEC3157 that I have in my new Vostro replaced with an LG.

I had the same problem with the M1530 that I returned. I this one does not get fixed on the first effort--it goes back and I will get a Thinkpad, Asus, Sager, or a Clevo. I have about had enough of Dell.

I had the sammy in my 1520 replaced with an LG.. the difference was noticeable immediately. My LG is not grainy or washed out at all.

Try to change the monitor settings in the nvidia control panel. It made my screen look a lot better and actually tolerable. Another thing is to sit a bit further away from the screen. This usually helps a lot.

Start >> control panel >> appearance and themes >> change the screen resolution >> settings tab >> click advanced >> geforce "whatever model video card" >> nvidia settings

It might be slightly different cuz im on an xp machine but it shouldnt be too much different

You should have an Nvidia control panel icon in your control panel, also.

I scoured the net and fixed my resolution from a post at dellcommunity.com/support.
