Lame, ESD was wrong

It's now offically 6/28 and my laptop isn't shipped yet =/ (ESD was 6/27)

Though it is in the boxing phase, probably on a plane from Malaysia as we speak. Or maybe it's still sitting on a factory floor in Malaysia... so cold, so lonely... poor laptop, just wants to be loved really.

Did you get your delay email?

Call. Ask what is up. See if it is to late for them to give you the free upgrade to next day shipping, and ask what kind of compensation you will be receiving because of this delay.

 

Nope, didn't get any e-mails from Dell concerning any delays in my order. I guess I'll try calling them.

So I went to bed last night without calling them, I was too tired. Woke up this morning and the status on their website said that the estimated shipping date is now 7/1, but i didn't get an email about it even though I signed up for their email service. I called them and didn't really get any help, except she said it could come before the estimated date. And, of course, the backup was due to back ordered parts, which leads me to believe that since mine was in boxing already I'm waiting on other people's computers to be finished to justify a plane trip to the US.

 

They fly to the US 6 days a week. Trust me....they sell enough systems to get a plane going most days.

I wonder if they share the plane with other cargo, or if it is all computers?

If you are in boxing, it is built. The delay may have been caused by parts being out of stock, but you are not waiting on any now.

Yeah but they're just laptops. Well, normal laptops, average laptops, run-of-the-mill-a-dime-a-dozen-unthinking-uncaring-incapable-of-love laptops. My baby is special. She knows compassion, she knows camaraderie, she knows what it is to be alive. Those other laptops will probably bully her around for being different, the poor girl. It's not her fault she's better than them, that she has a soul, yet they hate her for it, they're probably just jealous.

That's hardly company.

Anyway my baby needs to come home, she needs to be safe, to be loved and pampered. Poor girl .

6/30/2008 12:00 am Shipment Acknowledged Nashville, TN

Is this just poor tracking service by DHL?

it's your baby, why waste time waiting at your house? drive to Nashville, see if you can can catch it before it goes on the road, stop all DHL trucks on the way and ask.

 

Finally, somebody understands how these things work. So anyway here I am, staring unblinkingly out my window at the road and I hear a low rumbling... the sound of a delivery truck perhaps? My eyes widen as something rolls into view. It's a large, yellow, SCHOOL BUS! Who the heck has school this time of year???

I think I'm going crazy.

 

My Inspiron 1720 arrived this morning at about 11, in the process of installing drivers after my clean install right now.

I am in the same boat you were my 1720 was delayed 3 days and it just shipped on thursday. The worst part was I logged on early thursday morning to see if there was a change and i got this message that said

"We are sorry but we have to delay your shipment it won't be ready until 7/15Do you still want it" and it asked if I wanted to cancel it. My heart sank but i decided to stick it out and later that day it shipped. Glad i didn't cancel it.

 

My friend, it is a little too late to be worrying about your sanity. I'm in the same boat as you by the way. Hope you meet your baby soon!
