I just got my Inspiron 6400. It has a German version Media Center, which can not display some other kind of language, such as Chinese. Is there some language package for Media Center or other solution? Thanks a lot!

Um, first of all, what version and language of XP are you using? What country did you buy your 6400 in? If you need Asian language support (CJK), more than likely you'll need either need XP Pro or a localized version of Windows as regular old XP Home for most western languages can't handle the double byte characters.

I got my 6400 in europe, and the origional operating system is a XP media center in German. I have reinstall with a Chinese version WinXP Pro on it. Now, the problem is how to make the media direct (German version) to disply Chinese. Thanks!

One quick question before I get too lost here...

You mention XP Media Center & media direct. By media direct, are you talking about the partition on the disk to play cds/dvds/etc? If so, you may be out of luck, as that partition has only German. Then again, if I'm not mistaken, that partition runs on some sort of linux shell, right? (can somebody confirm this?) If that's the case, then shouldn't you just need a Chinese localization file? (Big 5 or otherwise)

In anycase, your best bet would be to get in touch w/ Dell Germany and see if they can lead you in the right direction.

    Thanks a lot.

I decide to give up now. It is not a big problem for me.
