First let me say, this is a very cool forum. I just stumbled across this page a few days ago and like what I see.
Anyhoot, I have a question about the M1530 battery life. I fly alot and am need of a gaming machine to keep me occupied in those long cross country flight. And I am wondering if anybody can let me know what the average battery life for a 9 cell battery would be?
I would have the wireless/bluetooth/infrared all disabled, and would be gaming pretty much till the battery died.
I know everybody has a slightly different model (CPU/memory/HD) but i'm looking for generals. I'm interested in the INtel 9300 and a 8600GT card.
So, those of you with 9 cell packs (even you 6 cell pack guys), if you wouldn't mind posting your battery run times with the above settings while gaming - I'd much appreciate it.
Thank You!
Cheers,

go with the M1530 i think... im sure the exact duration... it dep on the game.. and what power settings you are using..
but on max power settings with the biger battery the m1530 can last 3 hours i think.... which is very impressive... i think a macbookpro is ok as well.. my brother gets 3hours but thats not runing xP or vista but osx.. running vista i think it could be higher..
U can run your laptop at many diferen batterylifeVSperformance settings... the issue is the best power saving on a 8600 will prob give u very bad performance...
playing a game at good performance settings i think u would be lucky 2 get 2-3hours.
If gaming while on a plane is a big issue for you i would just get a NintendoDS or PSP... imo -
On max performance settings (which are required for gaming) you'll get probably 2 hours or so. However if gaming is important, you might want to keep additional batteries with you so you can swap them over.

Dont go with the M1730 then - you'll get around an hour! lol

Thanks for those guys.
Lets see, I'd be playing games like COD4, C&C3, WIC, and so on. I am not interested in power saving mode.
Anybody else that can provide me with some real world timings would be great!
THanks!

You want to know how long you can game on battery? You wont get much at all. An hour to an hour and a half max. Good thing is that they have power on the planes so you can plug in your lappy.
